Every year the school launches what is known as the Annual Fund Drive. The Annual Fund is perhaps the most important element of all of the fundraising functions that happen at Riverstone. Independent schools, like Riverstone, usually hope to raise a certain percentage of their budget for the year through Annual Fund donations. This year the goal is $175,000.
Why does Riverstone have an Annual Fund? The educational experience offered at Riverstone, like many other independent schools, costs more than tuition alone can support. In the 2007-2008 school year, the gap between the annual tuition for each student and the actual cost to the institution for that student is approximately $1,700. We rely on the Annual Fund to bridge this gap and to support essential aspects of the school.
