WHAT DOES BEING AN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL MEAN?
Independent Schools are private, pre-collegiate learning institutions. They are nonprofit institutions governed by an independent Board of Trustees. Independent schools are supported through tuition, annual gifts, charitable contributions and endowment income.
IS THERE AN APPLICATION FEE?
Yes. There is a $75 fee per application.
HOW BIG ARE CLASSES?
Riverstone enrolls students each year in all grades, K - 12. In kindergarten we admit 32 students in each of the 2 sections. Currently, there are two sections each of Gr. 1 and Gr. 2 with a maximum of 20 students per classroom grades 2 - 10. This year, in Grades 3 - 5, there is just one section of each class. In Middle School (grades 6 - 10), there are typically about 30 students in each grade level. The same is true for the high school classes with about 36 students per grade level in Grades 11 and 12.
WHERE ARE THE MAJORITY OF YOUR APPLICANTS FROM?
The majority of Riverstone's students come from the Treasure Valley; however, the school also has a large population of students from other countries. The school actively recruits both locally and internationally and currently enrolls over 30 students from 15 different countries.
IS FINANCIAL AID OFFERED?
Financial aid, awarded on the basis of need as indicated by the Student Service Financial Aid form (available in the school's business office), has been extended to over 20% of the student body. A low-interest loan program and several tuition payment plans are also available.
WHAT KIND OF SCHOOL IS RIVERSTONE?
Riverstone is an independent day school, which serves approximately 325 students in grades K - 12. The school is committed to a college preparatory education in an environment that embraces the standards and rigors of the IB programme. In addition to participating in classic outdoor experiences, the school experiential education - the belief that education is a life-long process in which the classroom is only one arena. Further, Riverstone students participate in a strong character education and service learning program.

Please allow 3-5 business days for the processing of your request. The registrar's office follows the school year calendar and is closed during school holidays.
