Riverstone Hosts “The Discovery Tour”

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

More than 160 parents and high school students from the Boise area filled the Elementary School atrium on Tuesday night, July 27, for “The Discovery Tour.” With admissions representatives from five prestigious colleges in attendance, students gleaned tips on applying for college, financial aid, and the college admissions process. Providing a brief overview of their particular institution, the admissions representatives highlighted what makes their institution unique. In addition to stellar academics and extracurricular activities, there are plenty of quirky trivia bits about each as well. Do you know which school has its own dairy and makes its own ice cream? Whose students have “temporarily modified” the Hollywood Hills sign? Which school had someone send a canoe with their application? (Don’t repeat that one please!) Special thanks to the admissions representatives from the following schools for visiting Riverstone and Boise!

* California Institute of Technology
* Columbia University
* Cornell University
* Princeton University
* Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
