Well-  how quickly 9 days can go.  We have just arrived at Lima airport from Cusco, and are playing the airport waiting game until our 10:30 departure.  We have all had a wonderful time, but are also ready to be home.  I am sure there will be some specific requests for dinner!  The traditional Peruvian food has been delicious, however, I know some students feel like they are liquifying into a soup.  I am excited for all of you to hear the many stories your students have to tell.  There should not be a lack of conversation at the dinner table for quite some time.

We are excited to see you all tomorrow evening at 5:39 -  to be exact!

More eating in Lima

More eating in Lima

Just a few pictures to fill you in on our day. you may think we did nothing but eat!  The meals have been fantastic.  We are excited to make our way to Cusco in the morning-  it is another early morning of flying. However, I believe we will be rewarded with an incredible day in Cusco.  We plan to incorporate a little historical education, along with conversation in a market.  Students are doing absolutely beautifully.  They could not make me more proud.

Once again, thank you for the incredible opportunity you are allowing your students to have, as well as myself with their discoveries.

Peru group arrives safely!

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Tarrah Elam reports that the groups has arrived safely in Lima. Here is the latest update from Tarrah and Matt

Hello All_
We have arrived in humid Lima, and are beginning to move out of our groggy states.  We are all are doing well and are energized to move on with our day.  We had all your positive thoughts with us during our travels, as we were just able to make each connecting flight with the glitches that happen in that industry.  We plan to visit the beach this afternoon as well as some markets.  There are not many photos to attach at this point, but I plan to send another email this evening that should include a photo or two of your children.  Thank you for giving them this incredible opportunity to learn of life outside the boundaries of our country.  It will be an education of a lifetime!
Until next time,
Tarrah – Matt and all 13 of you kids!
