Annual Auction 2010
Mark your calendars for our 2010 Annual Auction - Fords, Flappers & Fads This event is always enjoyable for participants and it will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 12th, 2010 at the BSU Stueckle Sky Center. Mark your calendars early!

The Auction is an important fundraiser for the school. To make it a success, the School needs everyone's participation. You can help in several ways, including:
  • Donation of services
  • Donation of auction items
  • Donation of airline mileage for travel packages
  • Referral of individual(s) who might have a service(s) or item(s) to donate
Another way to participate is to sponsor a corporate or individual table. Sponsorships are a wonderful opportunity for you or for your business to receive significant exposure while you and your guests enjoy an extra special evening. Please consider one of our three levels of sponsorship, at $5,000, $3,000, or $1,500 with tables in an optimal near-the-stage location. Corporate tables are limited and priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis, so reserve yours today! As a sponsor-level contributor you will be acknowledged in the Auction program. All donations are tax-deductible.

Capital Campaign

The Current Capital Campaign, entitled "Raise the Roof" has the goal of funding the new Elementary School Building. We are almost there, but could still use your help!

The Goal:
  • Our new Elementary School building is almost completed (we are in and using it, just a few finishing touches remain!)
  • Grand opening and occupancy of the new Elementary School was in January 2010
  • Our Middle School relocated from the modular classrooms to the prior Elementary School
  • Modular classrooms were removed. We still need to landscape, this spring (2010)
  • Accommodate approximately 400 students in new or refurbished buildings
Raise the Roof was kicked off at Riverstone's Annual Auction held on April 19, 2008 at the Boise Centre on the Grove. During the evening over $1.1 million was raised towards the construction of the new building. This excellent start leaves the school needing to fund the remaining $1,000,000 through the Raise the Roof campaign.
  • Cost to Build: $3,500,000
  • Currently Raised: ($1,100,000)
  • Bank Loan: ($1,400,000)
  • Need to Raise: $1,000,000
The school is very happy with the new building, and the Capital Campaign Committee is inviting The Riverstone International School Community to join us as we work hard to raise the last remaining funds that will enable us to finish strong.

All contributions are appreciated and are valuable to Riverstone's development, even if the donation doesn't fall into one of our dilineated giving levels. Please contact us for more information.

Roots for Riverstone
Every year the school launches its Annual Fund Drive, which is one of the most important elements of fundraising at Riverstone. Independent schools like Riverstone hope to raise a certain percentage of their budget for the year through Annual Fund donations. This year the goal is $150,000.

The educational experience offered at Riverstone, like many other independent schools, costs more than tuition alone can support. In the 2009-2010 school year, the gap between the annual tuition for each student and the actual cost to the institution for that student was approximately $1,700. The School relies on the Annual Fund to bridge this gap and to support essential aspects of the school.

When You Support Riverstone Through Annual Giving:
  • You affirm your belief in the education Riverstone has offered for over 13 years and you expect to see it continue for your children, grandchildren, and future generations.
  • You encourage the retention of our skilled and motivated faculty.
  • You help to create a safe environment for optimal learning.
  • You ensure a rich academic program with challenging outdoor activities.
  • You assist with financial aid and scholarships that help to attract and retain the most academically talented students from the Treasure Valley and around the world.
We look for support from the entire Riverstone community, including our parents, trustees, faculty, and staff. In 2008-2009, we had a 100 percent participation rate! The community's participation is worth more than the face value of the gifts. It also helps maximize additional dollars from foundations that support independent schools.

Your 100% tax-deductible gift to the Annual Fund will help ensure a successful and vital future for Riverstone!

Annual Giving Clubs:
  • Otter Circle: Up to $200
  • Blue Circle: $200 +
  • Silver Circle: $500 +
  • Headmaster's Circle: $1,000 +
  • Founder's Circle: $2,000 +
  • Harris Club: $5,000 +
  • Leadership Circle: $10,000 +

Parents' Association
All parents of children enrolled at Riverstone International School are members of the Parents’ Association (PA). The PA is designed to promote clear communication between parents and the school, to support the mission of the school, and to assist with fundraising as needed. The PA meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month during the school year at 8:30 a.m. and all parents are encouraged to attend. If a parent wishes to present an agenda item at a PA meeting, he or she should contact the President of the PA in advance of the meeting. PA Meeting minutes will be posted on bulletin boards at school as well as electronically on the Riverstone website. There are many opportunities for participating in the PA, such as volunteering, serving on a committee work, or assisting in the planning and organizing of various community building, or “fun-raising,” events throughout the year.
