Elementary School Rafting Trips This Week

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

It looks like we should have some great weather for the year’s first Outdoor Program adventures!  The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders hit the water on Thursday, September 3, followed by the Kindergarten through 2nd grade on Friday.

This year brings a new twist to the rafting trips as some of Riverstone’s own students will be doing some of the guiding and safety boating.  Andrew Roan, Kang Min Kim, and Will Miller (all Class of 2011) and Coleman Roan (Class of 2012) have been working with Cascade Raft and Kayak all summer and will get time away from classes to make sure their younger Riverstone schoolmates have a safe and fun time on the water!

Middle School Girls Volleyball Begins

Monday, August 24th, 2009

The first Volleyball practice in Riverstone history took place Monday morning, August 24.

Anke Voigt and Boni Peters ran the girls through a fun set of drills and activities and officially began the 2009-10 school year!  The girls had a great time as you can tell by the smiles below.  The team, which will eventually consist of 10+ girls in grades 6-8, will play four games in the inaugural season as members of the Western Idaho Conference (WIC).  Schedules will be posted in the Kennedy Gymnasium and on the website soon.  Go VolleyOtters!
