Small by design

We’re a private, independent school serving preschool through high school, and we keep it that way intentionally. When teachers know every student, relationships deepen and learning accelerates.

Results that speak

Our students consistently outperform peers on standardized tests. Our IB Diploma pass rate exceeds both Idaho and global averages. And 84% of our IB diploma holders graduate from college in four years, compared to 39% nationally. We’re ranked #1 among K-12 private schools in Idaho, top 4% nationally, and in the top 1% of American high schools.

The IB Experience

The International Baccalaureate isn’t just a curriculum—it’s an educational philosophy. Students develop as independent learners and critical thinkers, gaining the cultural awareness and academic foundation that top universities recognize and value.

Our students are part of a global network of over 3,000 schools offering the Diploma Programme, with more than 170,000 IB candidates worldwide. They consistently exceed global pass rates and outperform Idaho and national averages on the ACT and SAT. Research shows IB diploma holders thrive in college, with higher retention rates and stronger academic performance.

Our History, Your Future

Throughout our history, we’ve stayed committed to one idea: students flourish when they’re known, supported, and challenged. That commitment has made us who we are—a place where curiosity meets opportunity, and where the education students receive today shapes the lives they’ll lead tomorrow.

1997
Hidden Springs Community School was Established

Riverstone International School was established in 1997 under the name Hidden Springs Community School. The mission of the school was to provide students in the Treasure Valley with a quality, independent education that focused on engaging and active learning, a commitment to the environment, and dedication to the school and local communities. Located just north of Boise, Idaho, Hidden Springs Community School opened its doors with 57 students enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade. Since its opening, the school’s dynamic educational environment has continued to evolve.

2000
Word Started to Spread

In just three years, enrollment doubled. In 2000, the school moved from Dry Creek Valley to southeast Boise and changed its name to RiverStone Community School. With additional land to grow into, the school was initially housed in an old Forest Service building and three modular buildings.
