Our Approach
Investing in What Matters Most
Riverstone’s educational model lives at the crossroads of inquiry-driven instruction, experiential learning, and the meaningful relationships that form between students and faculty. Our Five Pillars shape not only what we teach, but how our students learn to engage with the world.
There are many ways to support Riverstone that make it possible for us to sustain the programs and learning experiences that define our school. We invite you to consider how your contribution can strengthen Riverstone today and help ensure that our model of education continues to thrive for years to come
- Tuition covers only 80–85% of the actual cost of educating each student. The Riverstone Fund helps bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of education, supporting faculty, programs, campus improvements, financial aid, and other essential needs. Every gift of every size matters and shows that our community stands together to ensure an exceptional education for every student.
- Each November, we bring together our community, extended community, sponsors, and friends for our Annual Auction Gala, an evening that celebrates connection, creativity, and a shared commitment to our students. Guests enjoy a grade-level art auction, as well as live and silent auction items, all in support of our designated Fund-A-Need. Join us in building a culture of generosity that directly impacts our students and school community.
- You can create a lasting legacy at Riverstone by establishing a named endowment fund. These funds support the programs and initiatives that matter most to you, while providing sustainable impact for generations of Riverstone students. Fund benefactors receive annual reports on the fund’s performance and its effect on our community. You can create a lasting legacy at Riverstone by establishing a named endowment fund. - Members of the Riverstone community who include the school in their estate plans demonstrate a powerful commitment to our mission and future. Planned gifts can be made through a trust, charitable gift annuity, IRA distributions, life insurance policies, or most commonly a bequest.

Support Our “In Memory of” Scholarships
Paige Bergmann Scholarship

In memory of our beloved Riverstone alumna, Paige Bergmann, we are proud to establish The Paige Bergmann Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will celebrate Paige’s legacy by supporting a Riverstone student each school year who truly embodies the spirit of Riverstone.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who is deeply involved in all that Riverstone has to offer – one who participates wholeheartedly in academics, outdoor education, athletics, arts, leadership, service, and community life. This student will reflect the enthusiasm, dedication, and school pride that defined Paige’s time at Riverstone.
At this time, the scholarship amount has not yet been determined. The award value will be based on the funds raised through the generosity of our alumni, families, and community members. As contributions grow, we are committed to providing regular updates and maintaining full transparency regarding this scholarship.
Through this fund, Paige’s legacy will continue to inspire and support Riverstone students for years to come. Thank you for honoring Paige in a meaningful and lasting way.
Jim Harper Scholarship

A beloved member of our school for nearly 20 years, Jim’s warmth, generosity, and love for students and the outdoors touched countless lives. Following his passing in 2020, our community came together to create a fund in his memory.
We are now establishing the Jim Harper Scholarship, a meaningful, student-centered tribute that will carry forward his legacy through an annual award. The fund currently stands at $8,500, with $500 supporting an inaugural scholarship this May, leaving $8,000 as the foundation for a permanent endowment.
To make this scholarship sustainable, we are working to grow the fund. Any contribution, at any level, helps honor Jim in a lasting and impactful way.
When donating, please check the box labeled “Add a dedication in honor or in memory of someone,” and enter Jim Harper as the dedication.
Thank you for helping us ensure Jim Harper’s legacy continues to inspire students for years to come.

Pledges allow donors to spread their contributions across months or years, making it easier to support the school in a meaningful and manageable way. By committing to a pledge, you help Riverstone plan confidently for the future while investing in the students and programs that define our mission. Contact us to discuss your pledge.
- Gifts can also be made in the form of grants from donor-advised funds. For more information, please consult your financial and tax advisor, as donors may enjoy tax benefits through gifts of this nature.
- Gifts of stock and securities may provide tax advantages to our donors and are welcome gifts. Please contact us for instructions on making a gift of stock.
- Many employers offer matching gift programs for their employees. If you or your spouse works for a company that provides matching gifts, your contribution to Riverstone can often be doubled simply by completing a form through your employer. Some employers even offer a set hourly amount for hours volunteered.
- As a donor, you will receive credit for the full amount of the combined contribution, including your employer’s match. This not only increases the impact of your gift, but also ensures that you are recognized in the giving category that reflects the total donation.
