Derek Wright
Outdoor Education & Service Learning Coordinator
Derek was raised in a military family and lived in Germany, Turkey, and all over the U.S., eventually landing in Arizona. Inspired by his participation in Scouting, he pursued a degree in Outdoor Leadership and Education from Northern Arizona University. Upon graduating, he had the opportunity to serve military service members and their families through teaching skiing in Garmisch, Germany, and directing the Outdoor Adventure Program at Fort Tuthill, Arizona. Returning to education, he coordinated outdoor programs at NAU, Cal Poly State University, and Boise State University. You can often find Derek skiing, biking, camping, climbing, or traveling.
