Brittany Roper

DP Coordinator

Brittany was born in Aldershot, England as a military brat. This resulted in her moving many times throughout her life forcing her to adapt to a wide range of situations. Throughout all of the transitions, she found a love for both the sciences and athletics. This led to her studying microbiology at the University of Kansas while also being a Division 1 scholarship rower. She began working in a cancer research lab studying Ewing Sarcoma during her senior year and continued in that lab after graduation. Under the supervision of her primary investigator Dr. Mizuki Azuma, they were published in the Journal Cancer. She furthered her studies in microbiology and received her masters of science through Clemson University. After many presentations speaking about scientific discoveries, she fell in love with sharing her passion for science with others. This lead to her pursuing a teaching licensure through an accelerated program and began teaching in Kansas. Brittany and her family moved to Boise in 2017 and quickly found Riverstone International school where they have fallen in love with the community here. After teaching DP Biology, MYP Biology, and MYP Chemistry, she moved into the DP Coordinator role and has thoroughly enjoyed finding her niche in data investigation and curriculum alignment. In her spare time, she participates in all the outdoor things to include rock climbing, mountain biking, white water kayaking and rafting, and building new things at their tiny house in the mountains. Teacher of L.I.F.E.
