Melissa received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Bilingual Education (Spanish/English) and Teaching Multilingual Learners. With her education degrees she got experience teaching Pre-school, First Grade, ELL K-6 and Spanish Immersion Second Grade. She went on to receive a second Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling where she counseled children and adults for 12 years before returning to teaching. She is married with 2 adult children. She has electic hobbies and interests from reading, playing guitar, and writing songs to rock-climbing, mountain biking, Nordic skiing and Tango dancing. She loves traveling and not just for seeing the sights and seeking new adventures but also as a way of educating herself about the world. Just as much as she loves traveling, she loves coming back home to Boise where she was born and raised.
