Four Star Accomodations Not Needed

Just in from Ben Brock, our Outdoor Education Director, who is up on Bogus Basin with our Grade 9 students on their three day winter trip. “Cold? Of course; it’s winter in February. But we’ve got hot chocolate (with mini marshmallow thanks to Casey!), sturdy snow shelters, and sun in the forecast.” Notice that he didn’t mention yurts, four season tents, five star accommodations. Yes, he said “snow shelters.”

Our students are learning a ton about taking care of themselves in extreme conditions, doing activities related to their in-school curriculum, bonding as a group, and having a great time. Joining the trip as a chaperone is Riverstone alum, Joslyn Olnes, Class of 2007!
