Kari Boazman provided the following information and photos for a Grade 2 activity just before spring break.
Grade 2 students had the chance to feel like a condor in a built to scale nest (egg included) that they could sit in while listening to a book about condors. Susan Tabb, our librarian, also shared a sound bite of what a condor sounds like and some really cool facts. She even had three kids stand up (finger tip to finger tip) to demonstrate the wingspan of a condor. This activity fit in beautifully with their unit, Sharing the Planet “Animal Architecture!”
Thanks to student David H and his mom, Ulrike, for constructing the nest and sharing condor facts!
