Grade 3 students took a field trip to the Idaho Botanical Garden on Tuesday. They learned about the largest seed in the world (coconut), sampled exploded endosperm (pop corn!), collected many seed samples on a walk through the garden, and learned about the various methods of seed dispersal. This trip tied into their “Food for Thought” Unit of Inquiry which includes investigating the structure of living organisms and their properties.
Looks like it was a great field trip! To learn more about the Idaho Botanical Gardens, you may view their website here.
