Twelve students from grades 9-12 and their leaders, Ben Brock and Tarrah Elam, left this morning for the Sawtooth Trek. Over a ten day period, the students will backpack from Atlanta to Redfish Lake. All their gear will be on their backs! If they’re lucky, they might catch some fish to supplement the food that they are carrying as well!
Ben, our Outdoor Director, met with the students a few weeks ago to plan the route, decide upon meals, and discuss gear. Students will share the load of the food and equipment, and take turns cooking as well. This morning, Ben had the group review all the shared gear and did double checks on individual gear. Being over-prepared is a good thing as there is bound to be lots of adventure!
