An Outdoor Rodeo

This was unlike any other rodeo you may have seen. No horses, bulls, or clowns. We did have ropes! And students in Grades 6-12 taking part in the first Advisory Outdoor Rodeo this past Tuesday. The 10 Advisory groups, named after rivers of Idaho, traveled between 10 different stations to test their prowess at outdoor skills and knowledge. Tying knots, setting up and breaking down tents, cleaning and starting camp stoves, identifying plants, and traveling as a group were just some of the fun activities.

The winning advisory group will be announced next week. This competition is one of 5 major events that will take place this year as we implement our Advisory Program called “RiverCamps.”

Looks like we are well on our way to meeting our goal of creating a stronger community across grades in our Middle and High School!
