From the Grade 2 classroom blog by Mr. Lindsay:
On Election Day, the Elementary School Student Council got out the vote, and we all participated in the election process. The lines were long, but we persevered, and each student cast a vote for one of five possible future student council projects.
Later in the morning, we read a fun book and had a great discussion about the election process, and enjoyed a writing activity using the prompt, “If I were elected president of Riverstone, I would…” Despite their wildly creative and “outside the box” ideas, let’s just say it’s a good thing that our school is not a democracy.
Thanks to the Student Council for helping us connect school-life to the real-world!
