National History Day Hoopla

Middle School students were giddy with joy and Humanities teacher, Andy Johnson, had a classroom chock full of National History Day exhibits on Wednesday. That’s because Wednesday was the deadline for entries into this year’s NHD competition and students could relax and take a breather knowing that they had just wrapped up one of the most challenging projects of their year. Last year, Riverstone students were recognized by Mayor Dave Bieter for being the school with the largest number of award recipients. We’ll see how we do this year, but judging by the looks of the exhibits, we’re off to a great start.

Special thanks to Andy for his guidance and assistance with these projects. And thanks to all our parents for their support of their children and midnight runs to the store for more glue, colored card stock, and printer ink!

Here are some photos our grade 8 students and teacher, Andy Johnson, taken by their classmates. We’ll share photos of the exhibits after the competition on March 5. Good luck to our students!
